Go Tri Event at the Arena

The GO-TRI Event

The swim will see you complete 200 metres (8 lengths) of the Arena Leisure Centre indoor pool. Swimmers will be placed into a lane dependant on their estimated swim time for the 200 metres, so that you can complete the swim without needing to overtake or let people past.

Once you have finished your swim you will then go through to the London Road Recreation Ground next to the swimming pool, where the transition area will be located. Here you will put on some comfortable cycle clothes and a helmet and head off for the cycle route.

After exiting the London Road Recreation Ground you will complete two laps of a circular flat and flowing 8km bike ride around Camberley. Using the cycle lanes and wide roads this route is extremely safe and promotes stress free cycling for you to enjoy.

Transition 2
Upon returning from your cycle you will dismount from your bike at the marked line and run into the transition area once more. Here you will leave your bike and helmet before setting off for the 2km run.

Now into the final leg of the GO-TRI, you will complete three 0.7km laps of the London Road Recreation Ground to finish in a blaze of glory! Don't forget to collect your goody bag at the finish line, and celebrate a fantastic achievement!

Junior Aquathlon event

This year we've added a Junior Aquathlon to the day's events, so younger athletes can take part too.
The Junior Aquathlon at the Arena, supported by Specsavers, is a two-stage, swimming and running event. Open to 11-15 year-olds, it will consist of 200m swim followed by a 2km run – the perfect introduction to multi-sport events for youngsters. Entry is just £7, again including a goody bag for finishers.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm worried that I will be the only beginner taking part

This GO-TRI is aimed specifically at beginners so although there will be some more able competitors taking part, this event is aimed at introducing people to the sport of triathlon so all abilities are welcome.

I don't have any triathlon equipment, can I still take part?

Absolutely! All you need is a swimming costume, a bike and helmet, and some trainers. There are no rules on what type of equipment is needed just as long as they are safe to use.

I don't have a helmet can i still take part?

Helmets are compulsory and must be worn by all competitors.

Can I walk during the run?

Of course, this is your event and you can complete it how you wish.

I haven't been to a GO-TRI before, what do I need to do when I arrive?

We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the start time so that you can unpack your bike and register for the event. On arrival at the Arena Leisure Centre there will be marshals who can direct you to the registration tent and transition area.

Can I enter the event on the day?

Unfortunately entries cannot be taken on the day of the event. This is so that we can calculate everybody's start times based on their estimated swim time.
